I’m still a bit back and forth on the flow of this chapter. I love the scenes in it, but I just really worry about it feeling choppy!

And yet, when I read back over what I’ve written so far, it does read fine and flow into each scene with a purpose. So, I think I’m worrying it feels choppy when it’s not, lol!

It was a bit of a stressful week anyway, which wasn’t helping my brain. One of my cats had emergency surgery early this week. I’ve been up with him a couple of nights to give meds and keep an eye on him, but staying up on a night has also meant I’ve got more writing done. (He is really on the mend now. It’s unfortunately an ongoing issue but hoping we have a new plan for managing it)

I’m powering through the 2 variations of Douglas’s scene, which means I can finally then move onto the last very dramatic but super important one for this long chapter. I’m really excited to write as it’s the sort of ‘culmination’ moment of some things for the MC. It also reveals some things that will help determine which endings are available depending on how your character deals with this moment.

So yeah, a really important scene that I need to make sure I get right and feels impactful. There’s been a lot of dramatic scenes in these chapters leading towards the end, and I know that can be a bit tiring—but I also kind of want that.

I want the MC (and reader) to feel kind of worn out at this point considering what’s happening and how the MC is dealing with things, lol! But I also don’t want it to be too much and still be super enjoyable, so I’ll definitely be asking readers to check if it’s balanced.

Balancing these scenes seems to be my main focus lately!

I hope you all really have such a wonderful weekend! We’ll be offline as usual, so I’ll update you all again next week <3
