The Wayhaven Chronicles - Update 06.03.2026

It felt so good to really get stuck into this chapter. I loved—and I mean seriously loved—the ballroom chapters, but this chapter is kind of like a mish-mash of character scenes, and I always love writing those! :D

Obviously which character you get and what scene you end up with all depends on choices, but that’s the fun of interactive fiction! I love that it can respond so much to the story your character is going through (even if that does mean I tend to go a bit OTT with variations)!

But although I do love writing these scenes where other characters pop up, I need to make it work narratively too, which can get interesting to fit into the overarching storyline sometimes, lol!

These characters definitely need this moment to wrap-up storyline things before the upcoming end and also start some things for later books, but I don’t want that to just be shoe-horned in. So, I’m reading as I go for these scenes to make sure they read cohesively with what’s happened—and I’m super pleased with how they’re reading so far!

I’m sorry there haven’t been any asks yet! I haven’t wanted to do too much extra typing with my arms and hands being a bit temperamental lately (thank you so much for all the kind and supportive comments on last week’s update! It meant more than you can know when I was feeling a bit low because of my hands <3).

I’ll be skipping asks this month, just to help with the typing load on my hands and arms. But we’ll post up some other things to make sure there’s still some fun stuff going on! Then hopefully I can get back to asks next month!

Next week, I’ll be focusing on this chapter still, as it’s quite a doozy one to write in the best of ways, hehe! :D
